Bob Lundeen
Award Presentation - Bob was a Deer River man, crucial in the
success of our very first race. His death in 2005 was a
tremendous loss for this community and everyone who knew him. As
mayor of Deer River, retired Chief of Police and a highly respected
member of the community, Bobby was in a position to help us overcome
any obstacles that popped up when we were trying to organize our
first race back in 2004. Bob was an enthusiastic supporter who worked
tirelessly. He coordinated the various organizations that volunteered
their time and expertise. Bob even took care of small details like
placing bales of straw wherever needed. Bob's help will be sorely
missed every year. We will be honoring his family and his memory with
a special tribute.
